Chateau Chateau is an evolving community of musicians led by Alex and Bleu. With beginnings in an abandoned aerospace warehouse in 2018, Chateau Chateau has grown into Tucson, Arizona’s favorite dusty and sparkly glam-rock band. Open members of the LGBTQ+ community, the band keep their outspoken support for the community as a forefront in their work.
They've joined the label fam and we share the news by releasing spitfire, pop-rock single "I Don't Love You Anymore". It's about an abusive relationship, with quotes from front-woman Bleu's father, taken from the emails of confrontation for being gay, tattooed, independent and strong-willed. However, the song is set to energetic guitar-driven riffs and Beach Boys esque harmonies, transforming the narrative into one of uplifting triumph.
Their music and performance is often seen with this duality. Chateau Chateau has been noted for their colorful, flamboyant, and party-like energy that is best on display in their wild and freaky performances. Despite this festive atmosphere surrounding the band, you can find a much darker, sobering, and visceral imagery in their lyrics, as they frequent the deep end of subjects like mental illnesses, addiction, and queer identity. The result of this blend between music and lyrics is a self-deprecating dramedy of introverts imploring their audience to sing and dance with them while they shoot confetti cannons and wave giant props and rainbow flags.
Chateau Chateau have a signing announcement + single release show November 20, 2021, at Hotel Congress (Tucson, Arizona). Doors at 8pm. 21+. Vaccinations!!! Get tickets and see the event page here.
