"This song changed both shape and feel a few times before landing in its final state. We played it as an instrumental on tour last year, and it felt real proggy. Then I worked out a vocal part but just couldn’t get it to sit right. We recorded a wild version in Italy with Theoplaying double-time breakbeat drums before ultimately arriving at this duo version—Jensinging from the perspective of an American aristocrat stunned to find herself a refugee.
The video was shot in and around Galatina, Italy, in the very southeastern heel of the boot. Our friends Sua, Chris, and Charles were with us as we recorded there, with Sua directing as we let the locations and our collaborative momentum guide us."
