Logan Lynn - I'm Just A Hole, Sir EP!
New EP!
The second installment of reimaginings of Logan Lynn's SOFTCORE has arrived!
I’m Just A Hole, Sir EP is out now on KRS and features an inspired remix by Ryan Cassata plus a mind-blowing rendition of "I'm Just A Hole, Sir" by Samuel Locke Ward!
"I chose this track because it resonated with me deeply, empowering me in many ways.
As a trans guy who came out on international television at a young age, I grew up in the public eye. This prolonged exposure led many to see me as perpetually young, even long after I turned 21. My husband Steph played a crucial role in making me feel safe, liberating me from this “forever young” perception, and helping me erase the sexual shame I had been carrying.

Additionally, the song spoke to me from a feminist perspective. Sadly, many men have objectified me, ignored my trans identity, viewing me merely as an object for their use, without consent. This song's narrative echoed that experience, and singing it felt like reclaiming my power and asserting my identity.

This track has given me a safe space to find empowerment and heal. Production wise, I added my unique twist to the song through experimentation, incorporating Splice samples and playing some synths. Despite the challenge of mixing the track with only one hearing ear, I managed to create my first remix. I'm truly honored that Logan wanted to release it. I have immense admiration for Logan's artistry, writing, and production—he’s a true artist!

When I was approached by the great Logan Lynn to remix one of his songs I thought to myself “golly gee willikers that sounds fun” and enthusiastically jumped at the chance to dig in.  I had never remixed a song before. I got about 60 seconds into a knee-deep noise-town, complete remix, intricately moving the drum samples around by sight and gnats assing it when I realized;  “Jesus tap dancing Christ! Remixing songs and rearranging beats is hard AF!” I started over and decided to do a cover instead to more properly perform what I was trying to do in the remix and give the song the competent attention it deserved.

I chose to cover the song “I’m Just A Hole, Sir” because I thought it walked the fine line between deep profound vulnerability and being gleefully blue to a tune that makes one’s spirit soar.

My fondest memory of this project was when Logan gave me an advance copy of the record long long before it came out and beholding all of it’s then secret glory alone in my headphones.
