"...channeling Springsteen bravado through a lens of queerness, punk grit, and working-class poetry. It’s raw, melodic resistance, punched up with a mission."
- It's Psychedelic Baby Magazine

"Ryan Cassata, once again, transforms experience into song and pain into community."
- Iggy Magazine

"...both a personal catharsis and a searing social statement. Greetings from Echo Park promises more of the same unflinching brilliance."
- Return of Rock

"Storytelling lyrics captivate, written with rawness and attention to detail. A singalong chorus is a gem and further evidence of Cassata’s ability to perform memorable folk pop and punk."
- OFM

"...a raw, honest, and heartbreakingly real testimony."
- Indie Dream

"Landing between pop-punk immediacy and indie-rock reflectiveness, 'i feel like throwing up' feels designed for people not just to sing along to but also to use it as a rallying call in the years to come."
- Analogue Trash

"...with someone like Ryan Cassata, there’s no trap. No cheating. Just the reality of a wonderful human being. Probably the most genuine artist we’ve come across in 24 years of writing about music."
- Indie Music Center
Ryan Cassata’s Greetings from Echo Park is out now on Kill Rock Stars, along with the official video for the emo/pop-punk epic “A Knack for Overthinking.” Directed by Alla Arutcheva, “a Knack for Overthinking” tells a modern queer love story — complete with anxiety, overthinking, texts left on read, and the power of community.

In Greetings from Echo Park, Cassata has seemingly spent the past few years swallowing down all the feelings of isolation and anxiety he could hold. Now he’s spitting it back up like bile. The result is a rich mosaic of influences and voices, bringing in collaborators such as Jason Hiller, David Scott Stone (Melvins, LCD Soundsystem), Mark Pelli (MAGIC!), and utilizing styles from emo pop-punk to Springsteen-style guitar. The album art by Boss Dog even plays homage to Bruce Springsteen's iconic Greetings from Asbury Park.
